Our Story

Where did it all begin?

Born in the snow-covered mountains of Austria the love of creating special memories was baked into Angelique from a very early age. The desire to bring happiness through pastry was passed down from her loving grandmother and mother who made magic out of flour. Family traditions and fine continental table culture was passed on through the generations. The tables, always adorned with pretty linen, candles and flowers, filled the house with joy, even on the most dreary of days…

After decades of working as an Interior Designer creating elegant and glamorous homes Angelique decided to finally turn her life long baking passion into her profession.

Getting engaged under the Eiffel Tower in Paris and discovering the wonderful world of French patisseries sealed the deal of the love for macarons and of course for her husband. Following this dream Angelique trained at the world famous French cookery school Le Cordon Bleu to become a French Pastry Chef. So La Jolie Maison, where Angelique lives and bakes, was born combining elegant table settings with her signature style of macarons.

Angelique now travels town and country markets to bring happiness and smiles to her beloved customers.
